Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit their work for evaluation in MORPHEÚS. Each submission will undergo an initial review by the editorial team to ensure alignment with the journal’s mission and objectives. If the requirements are met, the manuscript will proceed to a double-blind peer review process, where its acceptance or rejection will be determined.

Authors are responsible for obtaining the necessary permissions to reproduce any materials (such as images, documents, or data) and must ensure that all co-authors listed have approved their inclusion. For studies that require it, the research must have been approved by an ethics committee, in compliance with the legal requirements of the country where the study was conducted.

The editorial team reserves the right to reject any manuscript that does not meet minimum quality standards. Before submitting, ensure that the methodology and arguments are well-structured, the title is clear, and the abstract effectively summarizes the study’s key points. Meeting these requirements improves the chances of acceptance.

Review the checklist before completing your submission and refer to our Editorial Policies for more details on specific requirements and general guidelines.

STRUCTURE OF THE SUBMISSIONS

The following guidelines outline the organization and presentation of scientific articles, essays, academic reviews, and literary texts for submission to MORPHEÚS.

Scientific Articles

1. Title: Should be clear and specific, indicating the main topic and, if possible, the methods or context of the research.

2. Introduction: Contextualizes the topic, poses the research question, justifies the study’s relevance, and presents the objectives and hypotheses.

3. Method: Describes the study’s conduct, including design, participants, instruments, and procedures for reproducibility and transparency.

4. Results: Objectively presents key findings, including figures, tables, and charts to clarify the data.

5. Discussion: Analyzes and contextualizes the results, discussing their meaning, relation to existing literature, limitations, and suggestions for future research.

6. Conclusions: Highlights the most important findings and their implications in a broader context.

7. References: List all cited sources in APA style.

8. Appendices and Annexes (if applicable): Additional relevant information, such as extensive tables or full questionnaires, that complement the main content.

9. Contributors and Funding Sources: Briefly mention collaborators and institutions that facilitated the work, specifying roles (e.g., advisory, data collection, analysis). Funding sources should also be detailed, describing the type of support (economic, material, logistical, etc.).

Essays

For essays submitted to MORPHEÚS, flexibility is allowed in the sections of method, results, and discussion. However, the content must present a well-organized, substantiated analysis with subtitles for clear structure. Essays should also include a title, abstract, introduction, conclusion, and references, like scientific articles.

Academic Review

1. Review Title: Include the original title of the reviewed work, subtitle (if applicable), and the author’s name. Add a unique title that reflects the reviewer’s focus.

Example: “Personality Structure” by Otto Kernberg: An Analysis of Contemporary Psychoanalytic Theories and Their Current Relevance.

In this case, “The Structure of Personality” by Otto Kernberg corresponds to the title of the reviewed work, while “An Analysis of Contemporary Psychoanalytic Theories and Their Current Relevance” is the title of the review itself, reflecting the author’s approach to the analysis.

2. Reviewed Work Details: Following the title, present the work’s details in the following format:

  • Author(s)
  • Full title of the work
  • Year of publication, edition (if applicable)
  • Publisher and place of publication
  • Page count

3. Introduction to the Review: Introduces the work, highlighting its significance in the field and the reason for choosing it for review.

4. Summary of the Work: Concise description of central points, objectives, and main topics developed in the text, informative and without judgment.

5. Analysis and Critique: Provides a critical evaluation, assessing originality, methodology, coherence, and contribution to the knowledge area.

6. Conclusion: Summary of the strengths and weaknesses of the work, general value, and possible audience recommendations. Suggestions for future research on certain topics may be included.

7. References: List of all sources cited in the review, in APA format.

Literary Texts

Literary texts are free-form and do not follow the methodological structure of scientific articles, essays, or academic reviews. Therefore, these writings should present a clear and comprehensible structure for the reader. In the abstract, besides summarizing the content, specific clarifications on composition or format should be included when necessary to aid in readability and appreciation.

TABLES AND FIGURES

Tables

  • Tables should be designed in programs like Word or Excel, never as images, to ensure precise editing and compatibility with publication systems. The recommended limit is five tables to avoid redundancy and ensure each contributes directly to understanding the article.
  • Tables should avoid duplicating information in the text, enhancing reading flow and clarity.
  • Tables must be incorporated into the text, numbered sequentially, with a concise, descriptive title. Relevant notes should be added below in a brief, professional style.

Figures

  • Accepted figures (graphs, diagrams, drawings, etc.) must be in TIF or JPG format, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi and 15 cm in width, maintaining proper proportions. This resolution standard ensures visual quality in both print and digital formats.
  • Each figure must include a clear number and title and should be incorporated where it is first mentioned in the text. Legends and additional labels must be legible, using a sans-serif font like Arial, sized 8 to 14 points.
  • Authors should attach figures as separate files to facilitate the editorial process. Figures not meeting these requirements will be returned to authors, delaying the evaluation process.

STYLE

Submitted work must comply with the formatting and writing guidelines of APA 7th Edition. The reference list should only contain those directly cited in the manuscript.
